On Sept. 14, 2011, Gavin began with one person, plenty of tenacity and a mission to create a new kind of advertising, marketing and public relations agency, fully devoted to truth in branding and driving action for its clients.
Our leadership had visions of showing how Main Street could give Madison Avenue a run for its money.
Today, our mission and vision haven’t changed — but our agency has seen explosive growth. We’ve built our house of talent, made our home in a unique space located in downtown York, and driven strategic efforts for clients regionally in Lancaster, York, Harrisburg and Baltimore, and across the U.S. and internationally.
Others are taking notice as we put Main Street on the creative map. Our hard work and big ideas have earned us the honor of being named one of Central Penn Business Journal’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies for 2016.

Building Our House of Talent
Gavin has grown from a one-woman launch to a diverse team of 24 (plus one fairly well-behaved office dog, Duff), expanding our full-service offerings as a digitally minded public relations and marketing agency.
Our house of talent encompasses big brand experience, knowledge of regional economies and market know-how, all in one team that works together to collaborate and push one another to greater outcomes.
Making Our Home in York
From the very beginning, Gavin has tied its approach to spaces that are alive with creativity and diversity. As we’ve grown, we’ve shifted from a small office space above Rudy Art Glass — where we bartered our rent as a small start up — to a larger condo on North George Street, which we outgrew in just 14 months.
Then, in 2014, we made the big leap and purchased a 30,000-square-foot building that would become our future home. It was a bold endeavor, and today, we have a vibrant workspace in a cool old furniture store on West Market Street in the WeCo district.
Throughout our five years, we have committed to downtown York, knowing that our location inspires creative solutions and helps us attract the best talent from all over, all while supporting revitalization efforts and amplifying the growing energy in our city.

Driving Great Outcomes for Clients
By digging in to our clients’ goals, we move beyond the basic forms of “pretty” advertising to bring the entire story together with substance, from strategy to implementation. We’ve worked with big brand names such as Trespa North America, MINI of Baltimore, Martin’s Potato Rolls, USLBM, Penn Waste, Schmidt Baking, PeoplesBank and Kunzler Meats, creating big, disruptive campaigns with measurable outcomes that make the C-suite very happy.
Year over year, we grew 63% in 2014 — and then another 60% in 2015.
CPBJ has had its eye on us from the start, naming us as a finalist for Emerging Business of the Year in 2012. Since then, Gavin has racked up awards including a feature in Advertising Age for smart growth, a third-place finish as American Business Awards’ Ad Agency of the Year, and the honor of York County Economic Alliance’s Business of the Year.
All the while, our focus remains: Truth in branding and driving action, supported by an ambitious team that is eager to tackle what’s next.
