We’ve been in business four-and-a-half years now, and one thing we know for sure: Retaining and recruiting talent is essential to a full-service agency’s success. We depend on our team to turn out fresh, creative ideas every day. So when we spot talented, hard-working individuals, we’re excited to bring them on board and keep them on board.

Our latest promotion from within is intern Kennedy Barba, a senior public relations and political science major at York College of Pennsylvania, who recently accepted a position as marketing assistant. Meanwhile, we brought on new hire Maura Beaver, a senior communications and business major at Penn State York, for our spring internship position.

Barba started as an intern at Gavin Advertising in May 2015. After staying on for two semesters in that role, she moved up the ranks to become a marketing assistant. Now, she will play a key part as a supporting team member and a mentor to the new intern.

Beaver plans to graduate in May and work in the marketing / public relations industry. With various internships under her belt, she is looking to expand her writing skills and knowledge of the industry before she enters a professional career. With a love for writing, creativity, people and York City, she is looking forward to a fulfilling experience and absorbing all things Gavin.

Gavin interns have expectations to achieve starting from their very first day,” said Mandy Arnold, president of Gavin Advertising.

We see them as integral members of our team and important to our growth as we focus on recruiting the best of the best talent to our agency. We use our intern program as a training ground and a talent resource, providing opportunities for interns to provide fresh perspectives while gaining experience in the industry. When our interns prove they are talented, dedicated, hard-working and understand our We Culture, we do what we can to keep them on staff.
