Contrary to popular belief, Facebook isn’t dead.
As new platforms like Snapchat emerge, good old Facebook may seem passé to some. But it’s still a pillar of today’s social media-driven society. With its first-quarter earnings, the social media giant has reached new heights with no signs of slowing down. Facebook’s revenue climbed 72 percent to $2.5 billion, which beat its $2.36 billion projection.
In the first quarter of 2014, Facebook’s daily active users increased 21 percent to 802 million, and mobile monthly active users are up 34 percent to 1.01 billion. Mobile users active on the app every day rose 43 percent.
So what does this mean for companies? Facebook is here to stay – and companies shouldn’t ignore it when it comes to marketing their brands.
Facebook revolutionized how advertisers reach their audiences. With 1.2 billion users, Facebook allows us to reach consumers where they already are, and do so in an engaging way that truly drives action
At Gavin, our strategy is to leverage social media opportunities for each client, keeping us in tune with evolving audience behavior. We reach consumers through Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+ and other innovative platforms – none of which existed just a short decade ago.
Technology moves quickly. Social media seems to move even faster. But for now, Facebook remains number one in active users. That’s not hype – just the truth.
